Volunteer

Running the event centre is a big job!

Our dedicated team of very willing and capable volunteers assist in many areas of our venues operation.

From ushering to assisting in wait service, set up, technical aspects and general running of the Ashburton Event Centre.

The Ashburton Performing Arts Theatre Trust owns and operates AEC with the financial assistance of the Ashburton District Council and the following Business Partners –

Ashburton has a very strong performing arts community who regularly use our facilities. We encourage them and offer our experience to ensure their productions are the best they can be.

Realising the budget restraints these organisations must work under, Ashburton Event Centre offers them a subsidised community rate of venue hire. For this to continue we encourage businesses to get behind us so as we may continue to support our local performing arts organisations.

In return for your support we can offer you discounted venue hire options, group bookings for shows and marketing opportunities within the venue during sponsored events.

Sponsorship options

Single $65.00, Couple $110.00, Business $300.00

A complimentary ticket to any one of our Arts on Tour performances annually.

Discounted Booking Fee – 50% off your booking fee on all tickets purchased.

Discounted Bar Prices – Present your Membership Card and receive 15 per cent discount at the bar.

Discounted Function Room Hire – 50% off Bradford Function Room Hire. (Limited to one booking annually)

Group Tours – When available, join us for a backstage tour after watching your favourite performances. We will take you on a tour through the back stage area, the sound and lighting box as well as the catwalk.

Invitation to Pre-Show/Post Show meet and greet – Join us for a complimentary drink and nibbles either pre-show or post-show on selected events.

Exclusive ticket discounts when available – be the first to know about discounted ticket options and what events are coming.

A Business Membership allows the business to offer the above to its staff. (Conditions apply. Limited to 25 per event and excludes the Bradford Room offer)

Arts on Tour are renown for touring some of New Zealand’s finest artists from across a wide variety of genres. A great way to meet people and always entertaining, join with likeminded theatre groupies at any or all six performances we annually subscribe to. Your feedback will influence the type of performances we schedule annually. Become a AOT Groupie and have your say as to what performances we bring to the stage.

As a business Partner

The Ashburton Performing Arts Theatre Trust is seeking support from community-focused businesses that will allow us the ability to continue to offer financial assistance and support to the Local Community Performing Arts Organisations.

Currently, community groups receive a community rate card for venue hire, sound and lighting equipment and technical assistance in the programming and staging of their annual events.

For the Ashburton Performing Arts Theatre Trust who own the Ashburton Event Centre to be able to maintain our current ability to support local performing arts organisations and allow for future developments within the industry, we request your support in our endeavours to provide the local performing arts community with an opportunity to use our facilities at a community rate that they can afford.It is envisaged that a minimum of five Business Partners will contribute $1200.00 + GST (negotiable) annually for a period of five years to a Trust fund.

This fund would be distributed by a management committee to local performing arts organisations, that meet appropriate criteria and demonstrate their ability to provide positive representation for your business.

The Grant would be offered following discussion with your organisation to avoid any conflict of interest, and your association with objectionable material.

As a partner we would ensure that – 

  • You are acknowledged in all promotional advertising and programmes associated with sponsored events.
  • Allocate a predetermined number of tickets to each of the sponsored productions to be used at your discretion.
  • Allow for promotional advertising space within our foyers.
  • Acknowledge your support within our media marketing channels, data base, e-marketing and on Facebook.
  • Provide the free use of our function room to entertain your clients prior to and following the sponsored performances.
  • We are happy to discuss any other opportunities you see as offering value to our relationship and assists you in your promotional goals
